Hyderabad, July 6: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said his visit to Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand will further strengthen India’s Act East Policy, MAHASAGAR Vision, and commitment to a free, open and inclusive Indo Pacific.
The Prime Minister will undertake the three nation tour from July 6 to 11 to enhance bilateral ties and expand cooperation across strategic sectors.
Modi will begin his visit in Indonesia from July 6 to 8 at the invitation of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. He said the visit will deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established during his 2018 visit.
The Prime Minister will also meet members of the Indian diaspora and visit the Prambanan Temple with President Prabowo, highlighting the strong cultural links between the two countries.
From Indonesia, Modi will travel to Melbourne for talks with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. The discussions will focus on defence, security, trade, investment, education, mobility, emerging technologies, sports, and people to people ties.
He will also interact with the Indian community in Australia, describing the diaspora as an important pillar of the bilateral relationship.
The final leg of the tour will take Modi to Auckland, where he will hold talks with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon.
The Prime Minister said the visit will build on the momentum created by Luxon’s visit to India in March 2025. The leaders are expected to discuss expanding economic and commercial engagement, including the implementation of the India New Zealand Free Trade Agreement.
Modi also said he looks forward to addressing the Indian diaspora in New Zealand, recognising its contribution to strengthening bilateral relations.
