Hyderabad, April 25 (Maxim News): The stage is set for the most crucial census process in Telangana after a decade. Telangana Census Director Bharati Holikeri has announced a comprehensive plan to collect details of every house and every person across the state. This time, the digital approach is being given priority in the census like never before. The complete details of this massive process are as follows.
Census in digital form..
For the first time in the history of the state, the census process is going to be conducted completely digitally. Without using pen and paper anywhere, the enumerators will enter the details directly through the mobile app. This huge process will be done in two phases. In the first phase, along with the house census, a self-enumeration system is being implemented where people can register their details themselves. As part of this, people can register their details themselves through the online portal from April 26, 2026 to May 9.
The portal will be available in 16 languages, including Hindi and English. After registering the mobile number and other basic details on the portal, each family will be given a unique self-enumeration ID. Thereafter, from May 11 to June 9, enumerators will visit each household in the field. Those who have registered online at that time will have to submit their ID to the enumerator. As part of this house census, every structure within the geographical area of Telangana, such as schools, temples, hospitals, huts, rented houses, etc., will be counted. If more than one family lives in the same building, each family will be counted separately.
In the first phase, answers to a total of 33 questions related to households will be collected. The second phase of the process will begin on February 9, 2027 and continue till February 28, 2027. In this phase, personal information related to each person will be collected. The most crucial aspect of the census this time is that the process is being conducted completely digitally. Enumerators will enter the details through a mobile app on their smartphones without using pen and paper anywhere. Officials have clarified that people do not need to show any documentary evidence while giving their details. If people have any doubts or need information during the census process, they can contact the helpline number 1855 from 10 am to 6 pm. These details will be very crucial in formulating the future plans of the state. (Maxim News)
