Hyderabad, April 18: Priyanka Gandhi on Women Reservation Bill defeat in Parliament said the opposition celebrated the outcome in the Lok Sabha. She stated that the move blocked what she termed an attempt at arbitrary delimitation.

The Congress leader said opposition parties acted together during the voting. She added that they oppose linking the Women Reservation Bill with the Delimitation Bill.

Priyanka Gandhi clarified that her party supports women’s reservation in principle. However, she said the current approach taken by the Centre was not acceptable.
