Prof. B. J. Rao delivers a Teacher’s Day lecture at MANUU

Hyderabad: “Education is not simply a tool for educating, gaining a degree, acquiring skills and getting jobs. It is a way of liberating and connecting ourselves with everything around us. In a true sense education is a way to enlighten, think, reform, and appreciate the whole creation. If we get this sense of appreciation in us and around us, education will serve a purpose“. These views were expressed today by Prof. B. J. Rao, Vice-Chancellor, Hyderabad Central University while delivering a lecture “Education for All” organized by the School of Education and Training (SE&T), Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) in connection with Teacher’s Day celebration.

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor presided over.

Prof. B. J. Rao while continuing his lecture advised students to give priority to what they want to learn and should study deeply which will make them an expert in their field. He emphasized students follow the pattern of learning, unlearning, and relearning as learning is a continuous process. Students should know the real purpose of education. The purpose of education is not only to get a degree but to make you aware of the purpose in life. Connecting the dots of knowledge is education. Contextualizing is the key to your own situation, he added.

Prof. Ainul Hasan said that a teacher is a caravan and a good student is one who has questions in mind and who listens deeply. He stressed creating individuals who will take India to the heights of success and wisdom and MANUU is committed in this direction.
