Race For Two RS Seats In TRS Begins

Hyderabad, Feb.29 (Maxim News): Race for coveted Rajya Sabha Member seats has begun in ruling TRS party in State. The State has two Rajya Sabha seats that will fall vacant in April this year. These seats are falling due to the expiry of the term of sitting MPs K. Keshav Rao and BJP MP Garikapati Mohan Rao.

An official notification to fill these two seats would be issued on March 6. According to highly placed sources, some 15 persons are vying for the post in the TRS party. The party leaders say that industrialist Parthasarathy Reddy from Khammam district and realtor Praveen Reddy, who hails from Medak district, are said to be in the race for the two seats. However, the names of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter K. Kavitha, and former MP B. Vinod Kumar and a close aide and relative of the CM Damodar Rao are also doing the rounds.

Although the CM wanted to send Damodar Rao to the Upper House last year, he could not do so due to social combinations. There are doubts about giving an extension to senior leader K Keshav Rao. Name of former MP and industrialist Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy is also doing the rounds. (Maxim News)
