Rachakonda Crime Report 2025 Shows Rise in Overall Offences

Hyderabad, Dec 22 (Maxim News) : The Rachakonda Crime Report 2025 shows a clear rise in overall crime cases compared to the previous year, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Sudheer Babu said on Monday. He released the annual Rachakonda Crime Report 2025 at the commissionerate headquarters.

According to the Rachakonda Crime Report 2025, police registered 33,040 cases during 2025, while the previous year recorded 28,626 cases. As a result, the commissionerate witnessed a notable increase in reported offences across several categories.

The CP stated that police registered three robbery cases and 67 dacoity cases during the year. In addition, officers booked 589 house burglary cases and 876 vehicle theft cases. General theft cases stood at 1,161 during the year. Meanwhile, police recorded 73 murder cases across the commissionerate limits.

Crimes against women also remained a concern during the year. Police registered 330 rape cases and 12 dowry death cases. Domestic violence cases reached 782, the report showed. Moreover, the CP said that crimes against women increased by four percent compared to last year.

The report also highlighted a rise in kidnapping and child protection cases. Police registered 579 kidnapping cases and 1,224 POCSO cases during the year. In addition, officers booked three murder for gain cases, Sudheer Babu said.
Drug enforcement remained a major focus area for the Rachakonda police.

During 2025, police seized drugs worth about Rs 20 crore. Officers arrested 668 accused in 256 drug related cases. The seizures included 2,090 kilograms of ganja, 35 kilograms of ganja chocolates, 34 kilograms of hash oil, 216 grams of MDMA, 10 kilograms of OPS, 242 grams of heroin, and 35 kilograms of poppy straw material.

Police also intensified action under various special laws. Under the Excise Act, officers registered 656 cases and arrested 689 persons. They seized 6,824 litres of illicit liquor.

Under the Gaming Act, police registered 227 cases, arrested 1,472 persons, and seized property worth Rs 69 lakh.
The CP said police registered 73 human trafficking cases and identified eight hotspots during the year.

Furthermore, courts awarded jail sentences to 146 accused in 5,647 cases.

As a result, the conviction rate increased by 74 percent compared to last year.
Meanwhile, cyber crime cases declined during the year. Police registered 3,734 cyber crime cases in 2025, down from 4,618 cases last year.

Under Operation Muskan, police rescued 2,479 persons. Under Operation Smile, officers rescued 1,071 persons.

However, road accidents increased across the commissionerate. Police registered 3,488 road accident cases this year, compared to 3,207 cases last year.

As many as 659 people lost their lives in these accidents. On the Outer Ring Road alone, 37 people died in road mishaps, the CP added. (Maxim News)
