The high-intensity raids were conducted under the supervision of Rachakonda Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu, with joint teams from the Special Operations Team (SOT), local police, and Armed Reserve conducting simultaneous inspections at suspected food production and storage units.

Violations Uncovered in Raids

Commissioner Sudheer Babu revealed that the teams found multiple violations, including:

  • Preparation of food in unhygienic conditions
  • Lack of FSSAI certification
  • No trade licenses
  • Missing manufacturing/expiry dates
  • Use of banned synthetic food colors

“We also found fake labels of reputed brands being pasted onto substandard products to deceive consumers,” the Commissioner said.

  • 35 kg of synthetic paneer

Police said the seized items were being sold in the open market, posing serious health risks to consumers.

Public Health at Risk

The racket had not only endangered public health but also eroded consumer trust by using deceptive branding. Officials suspect that many of the arrested individuals are repeat offenders and have vowed to initiate stringent legal action against them under food safety and criminal laws.

“This is just the beginning. Our investigation will continue, and we will shut down every illegal food processing unit that compromises public safety,” added the Commissioner.

Appeal to the Public

Authorities are urging citizens to be vigilant and report suspicious food products, especially those without proper labeling or unusually low prices. Officials assured that repeat inspections will be conducted to ensure compliance and public safety.
