Hyderabad, Nov 3: Telangana is set to witness a prolonged spell of rainfall until November 7, after which the state is likely to experience a sharp drop in temperatures and cold wave conditions, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Officials attributed the continuing wet weather to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal and an upper air cyclonic circulation over Vidarbha, which are drawing moisture into the region. The IMD forecast predicts intermittent light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms across several districts, with total rainfall accumulation expected to reach around 18 mm between November 2 and 7.
In Hyderabad, residents can expect light rain or drizzle, particularly during the evening and night hours, while mornings may remain partly cloudy. Daytime temperatures are likely to hover around 31–32°C, IMD said.
Forecast Breakdown
Nov 3–4: Isolated to scattered light to moderate rain or thundershowers across Telangana. Hyderabad may witness light rain or drizzle.
Nov 4–6: A few districts could experience moderate rainfall or thunderstorms.
By Nov 7: Cloud cover is expected to recede, and the probability of rainfall will drop from around 60% to 40%.
Cold Wave Expected After November 7
After the rain subsides, Telangana will likely face a sharp dip in temperatures. From November 8 onward, skies will clear, leading to cooler conditions. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain around 30–31°C, while nighttime lows could drop to 18°C.
By November 9, the minimum temperature may fall further to around 16°C, marking the onset of an early winter chill.
Through mid-November, the state is expected to experience pleasant days (29–30°C) and significantly cooler nights (15–16°C). (Maxim News)
