Ravi Prakash’s Plea Rejected By High Court

Hyderabad, Sept.24 (Maxim News): Former TV9 CEO V Ravi Prakash, who is facing charges of forgery and diversion of funds, was denied permission to travel aboard by the High Court on Tuesday.

In a petition filed in the High Court, Ravi Prakash requested the Court to remove the conditions from the anticipatory bail. He sought exemption from appearing before the Banjara Hills police station thrice a week and also he be allowed to travel abroad. After listening to his counsel, the High Court dismissed the petition.

In July this year, the High Court granted conditional bail and directed Ravi Prakash to cooperate with the police during the course of the investigation and to appear before the police thrice a week. He was also instructed not to travel outside India without seeking permission from the court.

His anticipatory bail was also rejected twice before because he could possibly influence the witnesses and cause problems to the police during the course of the investigation. Challenging the High Court orders, he approached the Supreme Court. However, he received an un-favourable order in the apex court too. The Supreme Court instructed him to go back to High Court for a decision on his anticipatory bail plea.(Maxim News)
