Hyderabad, Sept. 13: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy credited former Chief Minister K Rosaiah with Telangana’s surplus budget at the time of state formation.
Revanth Reddy said Telangana had a surplus budget of Rs 16,000 crore when the state was formed on June 2, 2014.
He made the remarks while laying the foundation stone for the Arya Vaishya Atma Gaurav Bhavan at Uppal Bhagath on Sunday.
The Chief Minister also praised the Arya Vaishya community and highlighted its emphasis on self respect.
Revanth Reddy Praises Rosaiah and Arya Vaishya Community
Revanth Reddy recalled his association with Rosaiah and praised his political conduct.
He said Rosaiah could criticise people without using abusive language.
The Chief Minister also recalled Rosaiah’s advice during his time in the Legislative Council.
Revanth said Rosaiah had encouraged him to move forward with experience and patience.
He said Congress had given Rosaiah opportunities and recognised his contribution to public life.
Revanth also said leaders had decided to retain Rosaiah’s statue in Hyderabad even if the state was divided.
He said the statue was installed in Hyderabad to honour Rosaiah’s contribution.
Revanth described Arya Vaishyas as a community that values social respect despite economic difficulties.
He said many members avoid displaying their financial difficulties because of their self respect.
The Chief Minister also cited Mahatma Gandhi as a prominent Arya Vaishya leader who became a global figure.
He said several Arya Vaishya leaders had played important roles in the Congress party.
Revanth said the government had confidence in the community and wanted the Atma Gaurav Bhavan to benefit poorer families.
He assured the community that the state government would support construction of the building.
The Chief Minister also urged Arya Vaishyas to participate actively in politics.
He said unity would help the community gain greater representation and recognition.
Revanth said the government had provided a corporation post to an Arya Vaishya leader.
He also said an Arya Vaishya leader had been appointed chairman of a municipality in Kodangal.
Revanth said foresight and financial caution were important qualities associated with the community.
