Revocation Of Article 370 Will Not Be A Lasting Solution: Kodandaram

Hyderabad, Aug.5 (Maxim News): TJAC president Kodandaram today said repealing of Article 370 will not be a lasting solution to the Kashmir problem. He said the Centre should take care that no another problem cropped up while addressing the contentious issue.

Talking to mediapersons on the announcement of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament on scrapping of Art 370, he said the Centre did not tell about the decision. Just by revoking the Article will not address the problem, he said. The Centre did not explain as to why Kashmir issue became a big problem, the issue will continue as it was there yesterday and today, he added.

Kodandaram also said the Centre has to take steps to find a permanent solution to the issue. He opined that just by scrapping Article 470, it will not bring sweeping changes. “We need to learn lessons from Telangana formation as bifurcation issues still exist, he added. The Centre must find an amicable solution to the knotty problem, he felt. (Maxim News)
