Hyderabad, April 22: An RTC private driver experiment led to a bus crash near Karimnagar, raising safety concerns during the ongoing employees’ strike.
Officials deployed private drivers to keep services running amid the strike. However, the move triggered criticism after an accident near Alugunoor.
RTC Private Driver Experiment Leads To Karimnagar Bus Crash
A Karimnagar depot bus was sent towards Warangal with passengers onboard. A private driver was assigned to operate the vehicle.
However, the driver lost control near Alugunoor. As a result, the bus rammed into an oncoming lorry.
The front portion of the bus was severely damaged. Consequently, passengers panicked and raised alarm at the scene.
Fortunately, no deaths were reported in the accident. However, several passengers sustained serious injuries.
Locals responded quickly and alerted emergency services. Meanwhile, injured passengers were shifted to the Karimnagar Government Hospital for treatment.
Passengers questioned the decision to appoint inexperienced drivers. They alleged that safety was compromised to manage the strike.
Critics said the RTC private driver experiment put lives at risk. They urged authorities to review the decision and ensure passenger safety.
