Patna/Hyderabad, April 14 (Maxim News): Samrat Choudhary has been appointed as the new Chief Minister of Bihar. Nitish Kumar, who had been the Chief Minister of Bihar for almost two decades, resigned some time ago. With this, Samrat Choudhary became the first BJP leader to ascend to the highest office in Bihar. Samrat, who has been the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar till now, belongs to the Kushwaha caste, an OBC community. The Kushwaha caste is the largest among the OBC castes in Bihar after the Yadavs (Samrat Choudhary Bihar CM).
Nitish, who stepped down from the post of Chief Minister, reportedly made it a condition that a person from the Kushwaha caste should be declared the next CM. It seems that the BJP has given the CM post to Samrat on the advice of Nitish. Except for a few years in between, the BJP has been a minor partner in the Bihar government since 2005. Finally, after 20 years, a BJP leader became the CM. In the 243-member Bihar Assembly, Nitish Kumar’s party has 85 MLAs, while the BJP has 89 (Bihar new chief minister 2026).
Meanwhile, Samrat Chaudhary, the new CM of Bihar, comes from a family with a political background (BJP first CM Bihar). He first entered politics through RJD. Then he joined JD(U). Then he joined BJP and became a key leader. In this way, he has experience of working in three major parties in Bihar. Meanwhile, Samrat Chaudhary will be sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Bihar on April 15th. (Maxim News)
