Karimnagar/Hyderabad, April 14 (Maxim News): Police cracked down on illegal mining in Karimnagar district. Several vehicles transporting granite illegally were seized. It was found that granite blocks were being traded without any permits. The police conducted inspections in the wake of allegations that mining department officials were turning a blind eye to illegal granite transportation.
Police stopped and checked several lorries transporting granite within the Kotha Pally police station limits. Police found that they were operating a granite block business without any permits and seized 20 vehicles in a week.
Vehicles were seized for overloading, transporting without permits, and not paying GST, Granite traders queued up at the police station after the vehicles were seized. These inspections were carried out under the supervision of a karimnagar trainee IPS in the wake of allegations that the Mining Department was turning a blind eye to illegal granite transportation. They kept an eye on granite being exported abroad. (Maxim News)
