Hyderabad: A Sangareddy couple murder shocked residents after a couple working at a construction site was found dead in Indresham under the Patancheru police station limits. The incident occurred during the intervening hours of Friday and Saturday. Police suspect unidentified miscreants killed them while they were asleep.
According to reports, the victims were identified as Somla Dasarath (50) and Manyamma (46). They were natives of Dongachintha Thanda in Gudur mandal of Mahabubnagar district. The couple had migrated to Indresham a few years ago in search of livelihood and work.
Meanwhile, the couple lived in a small hut near the construction site where they worked. On the night of the incident, unidentified persons allegedly attacked them while they were sleeping. Police suspect the attackers used sharp weapons to beat them to death.
The crime took place in the middle of a residential colony. Therefore, the brutal killing created panic and sensation among people living in the area. Local residents soon informed the police after discovering the bodies.
Later, police officers rushed to the spot and began preliminary investigation. Authorities then shifted the bodies to the government hospital in Patancheru for postmortem examination.
Meanwhile, investigators launched a detailed probe to identify those responsible for the crime. The police pressed the clues team, forensic officials, and a dog squad into service to collect evidence from the crime scene.
Also, officials started examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area. They hope the recordings may help trace the suspects involved in the Sangareddy couple murder. Police are currently analysing the evidence gathered from the site.
Authorities have registered a case in connection with the incident. Meanwhile, the investigation continues as officials attempt to establish the motive behind the killing and identify the attackers.
