In a statement released on Friday, Pasha urged authorities to investigate the alleged misplacement of sewing machines and punish those responsible for the loss of government property.
He highlighted that the BRS government, prior to the last Assembly elections, had sanctioned sewing machines to provide financial independence to poor minority women in every constituency. A list of beneficiaries was created, and sewing machines were distributed to several areas. However, Pasha pointed out that, due to the election code of conduct, only the Pinapaka constituency received the sewing machines, while the rest of the constituencies were left out of the distribution.
According to Pasha, the sewing machines distributed by the government were secured in various local government offices, including the local Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) and RDO offices. Unfortunately, he stated that nearly 18 of the 100 sewing machines stored at the MPDO office in Aswaraopet were reported missing, with an estimated value of approximately Rs. 1.8 lakh.

Pasha has demanded that the authorities immediately investigate the whereabouts of the missing sewing machines and take legal action against those responsible for the theft. He further urged the Special Secretary of the State Minority Welfare Department, the Chairman of the Minority Finance Corporation, the District Collector, and the District Minority Welfare Officer to take swift action in this regard.
Additionally, Pasha called for a thorough investigation in all constituencies of the district to ensure that the sewing machines allocated by the government are accounted for and properly distributed to the intended beneficiaries. He emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in the implementation of welfare schemes aimed at empowering minority women.
The missing sewing machines represent a significant setback for the district’s minority welfare initiatives, and Pasha’s call for immediate action underscores the urgency of addressing the issue to ensure that government resources are used effectively for the benefit of the community. (Maxim News)
