Siddipet collector is Acting as Extra Constitutional Power: Gudur

Hyderabad, Oct 26 (Maxim News): Bharatiya Janata Party state senior leader Gudur Narayana Reddy on Tuesday has alleged that Siddipet district collector P Venkatrama Reddy has been acting as extra constitutional power.

He demanded the government to immediately dismiss him from the services as he has made comments which amount to contempt of court openly.

He said that the collector ‘on the record’ declared that he would not care orders of High Court and Supreme Court.

In a media statement, Narayana Reddy said that in a meeting with the dealers of the seeds, the collector was seen making comments which were nothing but contempt of court.

He said that the collector was bound to the constitution and he should respect the courts at any cost.

The collector was not an extra judicial and extra constitutional authority and could not defy the orders of the court.

“The collector said that he would not care even if the dealers get orders from the High Court and Supreme Court to open the shops.

He would not let the shops to open till he remains the collector of the district,” Narayana Reddy informed.

The BJP leader said that the Supreme Court should take notice of these comments and take up suo moto prosecution of the collector.

In the meeting the collector directed that the dealers should not sell paddy seeds in the district.

If he comes to know that any dealer has sold the seeds he would order for the closure of the shop. “The collector said even if one kg of seeds is sold he would see that the shop is closed,” the BJP leader said. (Maxim News)
