Spa Center Raided In Hyderabad, Seven Women Rescued
Hyderabad, May 11: In a major crackdown on illegal activities in the city, the Medipally Police, in coordination with the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Rachakonda Police, raided a spa centre in Chengicherla and rescued seven women who were reportedly forced into prostitution.
The raid was conducted at the Sugar Spa Centre located in RTC Colony, Chengicherla, following credible information received by the police. During the operation, the authorities apprehended the main organizer, identified as Pallavi from Amberpet, and detained a customer at the premises.
According to police officials, Pallavi was allegedly running a prostitution racket under the guise of a massage parlour. She is accused of luring customers with massage services and then charging them heavily, while giving only a small share to the women involved, who were reportedly coerced into the illegal trade.
“The spa was operating as a front for prostitution. The women were being exploited and paid minimal amounts,” an official from the Medipally police said.
The seven rescued women have been shifted to a government-run shelter home for rehabilitation and counseling. Legal action has been initiated against Pallavi and the detained customer, who have been sent to judicial custody.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to cracking down on human trafficking and illegal sex rackets in the city. The police urged the public to report any suspicious activity related to such crimes. (Maxim News)
