Later, the Chief Minister unveiled the Spandana poster at a public event held in the auditorium. The initiative aims to provide immediate support and protection to women facing distress situations.

The government introduced the system after recognizing that women often feel more comfortable sharing problems with women police personnel. Therefore, the new teams will work as all women first responders for emergencies.

The Spandana teams will function as an advanced extension of the existing Dial 100 and 112 emergency systems. Once a distress call related to women or child safety reaches the control room, officials will immediately alert the nearest Spandana unit.

The special team will rush to the location within minutes in dedicated patrol vehicles. Officers will first assess the situation and then provide safety to victims.

If a victim suffers injuries, the team will immediately shift her to the nearest government hospital for treatment. If accused persons remain at the spot, officers will detain them and hand them over to local law and order police for legal action.

The teams will also explain legal rights to victims and provide emotional support. When needed, they will coordinate with Bharosa Centres, Sakhi Centres and other support agencies.

During non emergency hours, the teams will conduct awareness drives on women safety in busy areas and educational institutions.

The government has formed 14 Spandana teams across the seven law and order zones of Hyderabad Commissionerate. One team will cover every two divisions.

Each unit will have only women staff members. Every team includes a woman police driver, one civil woman constable and one AR woman constable.

They will work in two shifts, from 10 am to 5 pm and from 5 pm to midnight. The Hyderabad Women and Child Safety Wing DCP will supervise operations.
