Hyderabad: A Class 10 student appeared for his SSC Exam only hours after his father died in a road accident in Medak district. The incident drew attention after the boy chose to attend the examination while his family was preparing for the funeral.
According to reports, Kummari Nagaraju (45), a resident of Pampbanda village, died in a road accident at Usirikepally in Shivampet mandal on Friday. The sudden accident shocked the family and the local community. Meanwhile, preparations for the funeral began soon after the news reached the village.
However, despite the tragedy, Nagaraju’s son, Dhanush, decided to attend his Class 10 examination the same day. The boy had been preparing for the SSC Exam and did not want to miss the test. Therefore, he travelled from Pampbanda village to Toopran to reach the examination centre.
Dhanush appeared for the exam at the Government Boys High School in Toopran. Although the incident left him deeply shocked, he chose to continue with the examination. His decision came even as relatives and family members were still coping with the sudden loss.
Later, the boy explained the reason behind his choice. He said his father had always wanted to see him excel in studies and achieve a good position in his career. Therefore, he said he wanted to realise his father’s dreams and take responsibility for the family after the untimely death.
Meanwhile, family members continued with arrangements for the funeral of Nagaraju. Dhanush is expected to participate in the funeral on Saturday afternoon after completing his examination responsibilities.
The incident highlights the difficult situation faced by the family. Even so, the boy’s decision to attend the SSC Exam soon after his father’s death has drawn attention for his determination to continue his education despite personal tragedy.
