Strike Enters 17th Day, JAC Accuses Govt of Trying to Loot RTC Assets
Hyderabad, Oct.21 (Maxim News): Even as the strike by the RTC employees entered the 17th day today RTC JAC convenor Ashwathama Reddy accused the government of hatching a conspiracy to loot the RTC assets and give contract to KCR’s relatives and friends.
Speaking to the media, Reddy slammed the Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao for defying high court orders to call them for talks and for payment of salaries to the employees. The Chief minister has promised to treat the RTC employees as government employees and failed to do so, he charged. He appealed to the people to help protect RTC assets from the hands of the ruling party leaders.
All political parties and Tamil Nadu transport workers are supporting our strike, he said. ‘We need to protect public transport system and the assets of the RTC’ Reddy said. Despite the court orders, the KCR government is ignoring the plight of striking employees who are on roads, he fumed.
Reddy asked the striking RTC employees to be united and fight until the government comes down to heed to their demands.(Maxim News)
