Tariffs On India Are Imposed To Stop Russia’s War On Ukraine: Trump In Supreme Court
Washington/Internet/Hyderabad, Sept 4 (Maxim News): US president Donald Trump has told the Supreme Court that he imposed tariffs on India to stop Russia’s war on Ukraine and establish peace between the two countries. He replied that the country is economically ahead because of the imposition of tariffs. Otherwise, it would be finished.
A lower court has ruled that the United States has imposed tariffs on India and several other countries around the world that exceed the provision of the international Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) of 1977. The case has now been heard in the Supreme Court. Solicitor General John Sauer is representing the Trump administration on the tariffs.
In his arguments, peace in Ukraine is a key element in our efforts. India is the reason why Russia’s war in Ukraine continues. India buys oil from russia. The funds from the sales are being spent on the war. This is not reasonable at all. That is why we have imposed tariffs on india for buying oil from Russia. Now, even if we reduce the tariffs, there is a risk that the United States will suffer further economic losses.
America is a rich country with tariffs. It is a poor country without tariffs. If tariffs are already lifted on countries, the country’s defense-industrial sector will be weakened. The annual trade deficit will be lost by upto $1.2 trillion. there will be uncertainty over ongoing foreign negotiations. it argued. Due to tariffs, it said, the framework agreements signed with six major trading partners and 27 European Union countries will strengthen America’s global position.
A year ago, America was a weak country. And now, thanks to trillions of dollars in tariffs paid by countries that have made profits by doing business with it. America is once again strong and economically strong in all areas. The court, after hearing the arguments of both sides, postponed the verdict. (Maxim News)
