Teenmar Mallanna Demands Action Against MLC Kavitha, Alleges Attack and Attempt to Murder
Hyderabad, July 14 (Maxim News): Telangana Congress MLC Teenmar Mallanna has formally complained to the Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy, seeking strict action against BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha. Mallanna has alleged that he was attacked by individuals associated with Kavitha and accused them of attempting to murder him.
During his meeting with the Council Chairman on Sunday, Teenmar Mallanna demanded that Kavitha’s MLC membership be revoked, citing her alleged involvement in orchestrating violence against him and his associates.
“Attack on Me Is an Attack on BCs,” Says Mallanna
Speaking to the media after filing the complaint, Mallanna claimed the incident was not just a personal attack but an attempt to humiliate and suppress Backward Classes (BCs). “Kavitha is misusing her position as MLC. Instead of working for the people, she is trying to silence voices that question her,” he said.
He also defended his earlier remarks, clarifying that the Telangana dialect phrase “Kancham Pathu Mancha Pothu” — which he used — was misunderstood and is a cultural expression linked to rice collection, not an insult.
Complaint to DGP in Progress
Teenmar Mallanna also announced that he would be filing a separate police complaint with the DGP, urging legal action against Kavitha and her followers for their alleged involvement in the July 13 attack at his Medipally office.
According to reports, a group of Telangana Jagruthi activists stormed Mallanna’s office, vandalising property, including furniture and equipment. In an effort to defend the premises, his gunman reportedly opened fire into the air, causing panic in the area.
Police Case Registered
The Medipally police have registered cases against both Teenmar Mallanna and MLC Kavitha, following the violent incident. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts to ascertain the sequence of events.
