Telangana ACB Registers 199 Cases, Arrests 273 In 2025
Hyderabad, Dec. 31 (Maxim News) : Telangana ACB intensified its anti corruption drive in 2025 by registering 199 cases and arresting 273 accused persons across the state, according to official data released here.
The Director General of Telangana ACB, Charu Sinha, said the agency maintained a strong focus on trap cases, disproportionate assets, and surprise inspections during the year.
Sinha stated that out of the total cases, 157 were trap cases, leading to the arrest of 224 persons. Among those arrested, 176 were government employees.
Therefore, the figures highlight continued vigilance against corruption in public offices.
Anti corruption drive, seizures, and public complaint system
Charu Sinha said Telangana ACB registered 15 disproportionate assets cases and unearthed assets worth Rs 96.13 crore. Meanwhile, the agency conducted 54 surprise checks, including raids at sub registrar offices and RTA check posts.
Sinha also confirmed that the government granted sanction to prosecute 115 accused officials during the year.
In trap cases alone, Telangana ACB seized Rs 57.17 lakh. However, officials later returned Rs 35.89 lakh to complainants after completing legal procedures. The DG said the agency organised Anti Corruption Week from December 3 to December 9 under her leadership to spread public awareness against bribery and misuse of power.
Meanwhile, Telangana ACB introduced a QR code based complaint system in 2025 to help people from remote areas lodge complaints easily. She said this system improved access for citizens who hesitate to visit offices in person.
Also, the department focused on capacity building and training. As part of this effort, 73 officers received basic induction training during the year.
Charu Sinha urged citizens to report corruption without fear. She said anyone facing a bribe demand can call the toll free number 1064 or send details to WhatsApp number 9440446106.
Complaints can also be submitted through Facebook and X. She assured that the identity of complainants will remain confidential at all times. (Maxim News)
