Hyderabad: Telangana BJP leader and social activist Madhavi Latha won a gold medal in the 25m Pistol Masters Women event at the 12th Telangana State Shooting Championship held at the SATS Shooting Range in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
Latha topped the event with an impressive score of 245 out of 300, showcasing precision and consistency in the state level competition.

Speaking after her victory, Madhavi Latha said her interest in shooting began during her days as an NCC cadet when she first trained with a rifle during Republic Day camp preparations.
She said public representatives should inspire people by pursuing sports and challenging themselves. Latha added that age should never be considered a barrier to achieving one’s goals. She also credited her coach, Prasanna, for guiding her throughout her training.
Despite suffering a ligament tear in her right shoulder, Latha said she has resumed gym training and is preparing for the pre national shooting championships scheduled in two months.
In a social media post, she dedicated the gold medal to everyone who supported and encouraged her throughout her journey. She also urged women to pursue their dreams with confidence and determination.
Latha later shared photographs from her visit to Upras Vyayam Shala in Hyderabad. She praised the institution for nurturing generations of youth through discipline, physical fitness and traditional Akhada culture since 1975.
She said such institutions help build character, values and patriotism, adding that the strength of India’s youth is the nation’s greatest asset.
