Telangana Budget 2026 27 allocates Rs 50,713 crore for six guarantees

Hyderabad, Mar 20 (Maxim News) : The Telangana government allocated Rs 50,713 crore for the six guarantees in the Telangana Budget 2026 27. Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced the allocations while presenting the annual budget in the Assembly.

The six guarantees formed a major part of the Congress election promises. The government said welfare remains a core focus. Funds aim to support farmers, women, and weaker sections.

However, the allocation saw a reduction compared to the previous budget. Last year, the government earmarked Rs 56,084 crore for the same schemes. This year, the allocation fell by Rs 5,371 crore.

Political observers expect reactions from opposition parties. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi may raise the issue during Assembly debates. The government has not yet responded to criticism of the reduction.

Rythu Bharosa received the highest allocation. The government earmarked Rs 18,000 crore for farmer support. Cheyutha pensions received Rs 14,861 crore.

The government allocated Rs 14,000 crore for farm power subsidy. Indiramma housing scheme received Rs 5,500 crore. Scholarships received Rs 4,343 crore.

Mahalakshmi free bus travel scheme received Rs 4,305 crore. Kalyana Lakshmi marriage assistance scheme received Rs 3,683 crore. The government also set aside Rs 3,500 crore as bonus for farm produce.

The Gruha Jyothi free power scheme received Rs 2,080 crore. Rajiv Aarogyasri health scheme received Rs 1,143 crore. Mahalaxmi gas subsidy scheme received Rs 723 crore.

The Indiramma Athmeeya Bharosa scheme received Rs 600 crore. Officials said these schemes target social protection. They also aim to reduce financial stress among poor families.

The government said welfare spending will continue based on need. More details on implementation may emerge after departmental reviews. (Maxim News)
