Telangana budget 2026 | Hyderabad, Mar 20 (Maxim News): The Telangana government announced Rs 3,769 crore for minorities welfare in the Telangana Budget 2026. Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka presented the allocation in the Assembly on March 20.
The announcement forms part of the total Rs 3.24 lakh crore state budget. The government said minorities remain a priority in its welfare agenda. Officials said the aim is equal development across communities.
According to the minister, the government continues inclusive welfare policies. These programmes aim to improve education, jobs, and financial stability. Social justice remains a central objective.
The budget also links minority welfare with broader education programmes. Students from minority communities will benefit from residential education initiatives. These include Young India Integrated Residential Schools for several social groups.
Telangana Budget 2026 minorities welfare schemes focus on inclusion
Women empowerment remains a key focus in the Telangana Budget 2026. The government distributed 10,000 sewing machines to poor minority women. This initiative supports self employment. It also helps families increase income.
Officials said the scheme targets women who lack stable income sources. Beneficiaries can use the machines for tailoring work. This support aims to improve financial independence.
Youth employment also received attention. The government provided skill development training to 4,655 minority youth. These programmes aim to improve job readiness. Training also helps candidates secure better employment.
In addition, minority youth will benefit from the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme. The government allocated Rs 6,000 crore for this programme. The scheme supports entrepreneurship among SC, ST, BC, Minority, and OC youth.
Officials said welfare corporations will implement the scheme. Loans and subsidies may support new businesses. More guidelines are expected during the financial year.
The Finance Minister said the government remains committed to balanced development. He said welfare programmes will continue based on need and social equity. (Maxim News)
