Hyderabad, Mar 20 (Maxim News): The Telangana government allocated Rs 3,769 crore for minorities welfare in the Telangana Budget 2026 27.
Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced the allocation in the Assembly.
During his speech, the minister said minorities remain an important part of society. He said the government works for equal growth of all sections. He also said inclusive development remains a key policy goal.
According to the minister, minority welfare programmes focus on education, jobs, and financial support. These efforts aim to improve living standards. They also aim to increase social participation.
The government also focused on women from minority communities. Economic independence for women remains a priority area.
Therefore, the state distributed 10,000 sewing machines to poor minority women. This step aims to support self employment. It also helps women build stable incomes.
Officials said the programme targets households with limited income. Beneficiaries received machines through welfare departments. Training support also followed in some districts.
Telangana Budget 2026 27 strengthens minority welfare programmes
Youth employment also received attention in the Telangana Budget 2026-27. The government organised skill training programmes for minority youth. These programmes focused on job readiness and technical skills.
So far, 4,655 minority youth completed skill development training. These programmes aim to improve employability. They also help youth find better job opportunities.
The government said training covered several sectors. These include services, small industries, and technical trades. Officials said more batches may be planned based on demand.
The minorities welfare allocation forms part of the broader social justice strategy. The government said welfare spending will continue to focus on weaker sections. Further announcements on scheme expansion may follow during the financial year. (Maxim News)
