Hyderabad, Mar 20 (Maxim News): Deputy CM and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka presented the 2026-27 budget in the assembly recently. He announced Rs 13,679 crore for the health sector.
This allocation aims to deliver better medical services statewide. For instance, the government prioritizes advanced facilities for all citizens.
TIMS Hospitals Expansion
Bhatti detailed plans for Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS).
Three new TIMS hospitals will launch by 2026 end in Sanathnagar, LB Nagar, and Alwal.
Additionally, NIMS hospital expansion adds capacity. V Rangal Multi Super Speciality Hospital joins efforts too.
Together, they provide 6,582 tertiary care beds. Currently, nine government medical colleges operate statewide.
Sixteen nursing schools and 28 paramedical colleges function already. Moreover, 17 new medical colleges under construction will complete soon. Previously, Telangana expanded health infrastructure post-state formation.
This budget builds on that progress. For example, rural access improves through new facilities. Assembly debates continue on implementation timelines.(Maxim News)
