Hyderabad, Mar 20 (Maxim News): Telangana prepares intensively for Census 2027.
This digital census forms the base for delimitation of constituencies and panchayat formation.
It also supports reservation implementation. First Census since state formation includes self-enumeration and caste data. Government announced timelines in the 2026-27 budget today.
Two Phase Implementation
Self-enumeration runs from April 26 to May 10, 2026. First phase follows from May 11 to June 9, 2026.
Nationwide second phase occurs February 9 to 28, 2027. March 1, 2027 serves as a reference date. Previously, delayed national censuses affected state planning. (Maxim News)
