Hyderabad, Sept. 1 (Maxim News): Telangana Congress leaders heading to Delhi have triggered fresh political speculation over the party’s internal affairs and a possible Cabinet expansion.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is currently in the national capital. He is expected to meet several Union ministers during his visit.
At the same time, the Chief Minister may meet senior Congress leaders. These meetings have gained political attention amid discussions about changes within the Telangana government.
Minister Konda Surekha has also reached Delhi. Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Vivek Venkataswamy travelled on the same flight, adding to the political interest.
Surekha is expected to meet Congress general secretary K.C. Venugopal. She has also sought an appointment with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.
Meanwhile, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Mahesh Kumar Goud is already in Delhi. Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao and Seethakka are also expected to reach the capital.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka is expected to travel to Delhi on Wednesday. However, the leaders have different reasons for their visits.
Some ministers are travelling for administrative matters. Others are expected to discuss organisational and party-related issues.
Telangana Congress Leaders Fuel Cabinet Expansion Speculation
The concentration of senior Telangana Congress leaders in Delhi has also revived discussion about a possible Cabinet expansion.
Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy has long been considered an aspirant for a ministerial position. His Delhi visit has therefore attracted attention.
He is also expected to meet K.C. Venugopal, according to the political buzz surrounding the visit. However, the purpose of the meeting has not been officially confirmed.
Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar’s recent meeting with Mallikarjun Kharge has added another dimension to the discussions.
Prasad Kumar reportedly discussed the latest political situation in Telangana with Kharge. There is also speculation that he sought a place in the state Cabinet.
If such a change takes place, the Speaker’s position could also require a new arrangement. However, there is no official confirmation about any decision on the issue.
The Delhi visits come at a time when Congress leaders are closely watching possible organisational and government changes in Telangana.
For now, the meetings and travel plans have intensified speculation. The party leadership is yet to officially announce any Cabinet expansion or changes in ministerial responsibilities. (Maxim News)
