Hyderabad, June 4: The Telangana EAGLE Force has busted an international hydroponic ganja syndicate and arrested 40 persons in a major anti narcotics operation conducted over the last three months.
Acting on intelligence inputs received from the Customs Department, the EAGLE Force coordinated with multiple law enforcement agencies to track and dismantle the network involved in trafficking hydroponic ganja into India.
During the operation, officials seized 13 kilograms of hydroponic ganja allegedly smuggled from Bangkok and distributed across several Indian cities, including Hyderabad.
Among those arrested are Sodha Mohsin Bahadurbhai, Sodha Mohsin and Harshad Mansukhbhai Prajapati. Authorities are investigating their alleged roles in the trafficking network.
Director of the EAGLE Force Sandeep Shandilya said preliminary investigations indicate that nearly 200 individuals may be involved in the illegal trade of hydroponic ganja from Bangkok to various locations in India.
Officials believe the syndicate operated through a well organised network that facilitated the transportation and distribution of narcotics across multiple cities.
The EAGLE Force is continuing its investigation to identify other members of the network and trace the supply chain. Authorities are also examining financial transactions and international links connected to the case.
Further arrests are likely as the investigation progresses.
