Hyderabad, Dec11 (Maxim News): The Telangana Legislative Assembly is officially preparing for the election of its new Speaker, with the official notification issued and the date set for December 14th.
Any Member of the Legislative Assembly interested in becoming Speaker can submit their nomination on December 13th between 10:30 am and 5 pm. The election itself will take place the next day at 10:30 am.
This comes after the Assembly was dissolved last Saturday, with Protem Speaker Akbaruddin Owaisi administering the oath to the newly elected members. The ruling Congress party has already announced Vikarabad MLA Gaddam Prasad Kumar for the Speaker’s position.
However, for a unanimous selection, only one nomination is required. If multiple candidates vie for the position, a ballot will be conducted under the supervision of the Protem Speaker.
All eyes are now on December 14th to see who will be chosen to lead the Telangana Legislative Assembly. (Maxim News)
