Telangana Rains: Red Alert For Hyderabad, Schools Closed

Hyderabad, September 01, 2024: Due to heavy rains forecast and subsequent red alert in Hyderabad district, a holiday has been declared for all Primary and Secondary Schools on September 2.

As a precautionary measure keeping in view the safety of children, the holiday is declared for these schools functioning under all managements i.e., Government/ Aided/Private in Hyderabad district.

Telangana Rains: Hyderabad under flood risk

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a special weather report indicating a low to moderate flash flood risk for Hyderabad on Sunday. Rain is expected to continue until the evening.

The surrounding districts, including Rangareddy, Medchal, Vikarabad, and Sangareddy, also have a low to moderate flash flood risk.

In addition, the IMD predicted moderate to high flash flood risk for several districts in Telangana, including Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Jagitial, Sircilla, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpalli, Mulugu, Yadadri Bhongir, Warangal (Urban), Warangal (Rural), Siddipet, Jangaon, Mahabubabad, Nalgonda, and Suryapet.

Residents in these areas were advised to exercise caution and stay updated on weather alerts throughout the day.
