Telangana’s Future City Project Has No Future: KTR

Hyderabad, Aug 17 (Maxim News)BRS working president K.Tarak Rama Rao said on Sunday that the much-hyped “future city” project had no future. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy‘s ambition to turn the Hyderabad Pharma City lands into a real estate venture for the benefit of his family and friends would not be fulfilled.

In a statement, Rama Rao condemned the scrapping of the 20,000-acre Pharma City project, spread across 56 villages, initiated by the K. Chandrashekhar Rao government. Farmers had voluntarily parted with their land for the State’s industrial growth, but were now being cheated.

The Congress promised to return every acre to farmers. Instead, it is eyeing these lands for real estate under the guise of ‘Future City,‘ ” he said, expressing concern over the fate of the lands allocated to pharma companies.

He said Revanth Reddy was a leader without vision, with his decisions leading to the wastage of public money. “A classic example of what happens when a clueless leader runs the State,” he said.

Citing the Land Acquisition Act, 2013, the BRS working president reminded that land acquired for a specific pubic purpose could not be diverted for private business interests. He recalled warning Congress two years ago in the Assembly.

After spending hundreds of crores on a PR blitz, today even officials admit serious legal hurdles, ” he said.

He said the previous BRS government developed infrastructure worth crores of public money for the Pharma City project, but it had been sidelined.

Public money wasted, farmers betrayed, citizens fooled,” he said, warning that the government’s actions were against public interest and would cause harm to the people, especially the farmers.

Demanding immediate clarity from the government, Rama Rao warned that if Revaznth Reddy failed to respond, the BRS would fight on behalf of the farmers to protect their lands and future.   (Maxim News)
