Hyderabad, Sept. 13 : A 26 year old woman died after a TGSRTC bus hit a Rapido bike in Hyderabad on Saturday.
The victim, Hemadurga, worked at a car company in Banjara Hills. She had stepped out during her office break and booked a Rapido bike to Ameerpet.
The accident occurred near Srinagar Colony, behind Big Bazaar. A Telangana State Road Transport Corporation bus allegedly hit the bike from behind.
The impact threw Hemadurga under the bus wheels. She died at the scene.
The Rapido rider also suffered injuries in the crash. He received treatment at a hospital after the accident.
Hyderabad Bus Accident Under Police Probe
Punjagutta Police received information about the accident and reached the spot. Police shifted Hemadurga’s body to a mortuary.
Meanwhile, officers arrested the TGSRTC bus driver on the same day. Police identified him as Pathro Himachal.
Police booked the driver under Sections 106(1) and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. They also invoked Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Section 106(1) relates to death caused by rash and negligent driving. Section 125(a) deals with rash and negligent driving, according to the case details provided.
Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act also relates to dangerous driving. The police action followed the fatal collision near Srinagar Colony.
TGSRTC Driver Arrested After Fatal Crash
The accident occurred while Hemadurga was travelling during her office break. She had reportedly booked the Rapido service for travel towards Ameerpet.
The bus struck the two wheeler from behind near the Srinagar Colony area. The collision resulted in fatal injuries to Hemadurga.
Police have started an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. They are also examining the events that led to the collision.
The Punjagutta Police have not disclosed further details. Officers said the investigation remains underway.
The incident highlights the risks faced by two wheeler riders and passengers on busy Hyderabad roads. However, investigators will determine the exact circumstances and responsibility after completing the probe.
