TITA Celebrates Its 7th Formation Day

Hyderabad, Sept.15 (Maxim News): Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) marked its seventh Formation Day on Tuesday. The Association, which was formed on September 15, 2013, played a key role during the Telangana Statehood movement. Techies from the State praised the Association for its various initiatives which helped the delivery of services to the common citizens. Association Global President Sundeep Kumar Makthala said that TITA will strive to expand its activities to reach a wider audience. The celebrations this year were low key affairs due to prevailing guidelines to tackle Covid pandemic.

Speaking on the occasion, TITA Global President Sundeep Makthala recalled his words during the Telangana movement when he said Telangana would emerge as the country’s IT capital, which is now a reality. During 2013-14, there were 3.26 lakh IT employees from Telangana which has now increased to 5.56 lakh. IT exports of Telangana have increased from Rs 57,000 crore to 1.29 lakh crore.

Makthala said that due to the prevailing Covid pandemic, the Association was celebrating Formation Day on a low-key basis restricting it to online mode.

TITA Chief thanked the State government for its support and promised to work on information, AI and new technology areas. He also thanked TITA members for electing him thrice consecutively as TITA Global President. He extended techies greeting on the TITA Formation Day and urged them to stay safe in times of pandemic.

TITA’s initial journey began with a couple of enthusiast techies starting a Facebook page in 2010 and then a portal TelanganaDosti.com. The registration for the Association was denied and the founding members had to make rounds of various offices. However, on September 13, 2013 Hyderabad South Registrar office accepted the TITA proposal and the same was approved on September 15. On the first Formation day, a programme was organised at Sundarayya Vignana Kendra which was graced by TRS youth leader and present IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao, renowned educationist Chukka Ramaiah, Telangana protagonist V Prakash, present TSPSC member C Vittal. TITA logo was designed by Sundeep Makthala himself and the logo reflected the vision of Telangana and the essence of IT sector. Founding president of TITA Sundeep Kumar Makthala and other techies like VML Chakravarthy, Ranapratap Bhojjam, Ashwin Chandra Valabhoju, Naveen Chintala, L Ravi, Naveen Reddy Gaddam played a key role in the formation of TITA.
