TS Govt To Develop 1,799 Urban Parks In State: KTR

Hyderabad, Sept.15 (Maxim News): Industries Minister KT Rama Rao today informed the house that the government has plans to develop 1799 urban parks in the state. The government has commitment to provide better environment and green cover through the urban parks.

During question hour in the assembly KTR has said that as part of it 797 urban parks we’re developed do far in the city so far. There are 1893 urban parks in the city and plans are being implemented to develop more he said. The other parks are in pipeline and works are being taken up.

We are for increasing green cover and credit goes to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao he said.

I don’t think there is no other leader like KCR in the world who thinks of green cover expansion, KTR said. As a result, green cover increased to 29 percent and target is 33 percent.

Rains gave push to agriculture, irrigation and efforts are for more green cover he said. Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud gas set up an eco green Park in Mahabub Nagar town spread in 285 acres, KTR said.

Besides that guns are being set up for public to practice and stay fit. In GHMC parks we are setting up such gyms he said. Steps are on to protect 80 percent saplings planted, and stringent measures being taken.

He also said that pattana harirha program is on, youth participation is being made for the same. There are 587 parks in GHMC 1108 in municipalities, corporations, 103 in HMDA , the minister explained. (Maxim News)
