Traffic Disrupted as Musi River Overflows: Roads Closed, Alert Issued

Hyderabad, Sept 28 (Maxim News): Heavy rains are falling in Telangana. Due to the heavy rains, flood water has reached the ponds and streams. However, the Musi River is flowing violently in Yadadri district. The Musi flood has overflowed from the Juluru-Rudravalli bridge. Traffic between Pochampally and Bibinagar has come to a standstill due to the Musi flood. The Musi flood is flowing from above at Sangem-Bhimalingam Katva in Valigonda Mandal. This has disrupted traffic between Choutuppal-Bhuvanagiri. The police have set up barricades.

However, the Moosarambagh road was damaged due to the flood caused by heavy rain. Due to this, the authorities have completely stopped the movement in this area. Due to the heavy flood caused by the recent rain, the temporary service road on the Moosarambagh bridge was completely damaged. The road was washed away. Garbage accumulated on the road. It has become difficult for vehicular movement on this road.

As the Moosarambagh Bridge flyover is being constructed, the authorities have allowed temporary traffic on a side road. However, that road has also been completely damaged by rainwater and has been closed. The authorities are requesting that traffic not be allowed on this route until the construction of the bridge is completed. Amberpet Circle DMC Maruthi Diwakar and Traffic Inspector Veera Kaushik have made several key suggestions to the people on this matter. The police have set up barricades on both sides of the bridge and completely stopped traffic. Police have been deployed on both sides of the bridge to prevent people from entering this route.

On the other hand, the Musi river has calmed down in Hyderabad City. The intensity of the Musi flood has reduced. The outflow from the twin reservoirs of Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar is decreasing. As the inflow coming to Musi from upstream has decreased. The outflow has decreased. The water board officials have issued a statement to this effect. Currently, the inflow to Osman Sagar is 1,100 cusecs, the outflow – 884 cusecs of flood water has been released into Musi. The inflow to Himayat Sagar has reached 4,000 cusecs. An outflow of 3,851 cusecs has been released into Musi. However, the residents of the Musi catchment area are worried about the violent nature of Musi. (Maxim News)
