Hyderabad, July 21 (Maxim News): A key development has emerged in the sexual harassment case filed by a woman trainee IPS officer against fellow trainee IPS officer Udaya Krishna Reddy.
Udaya Krishna Reddy has approached the Telangana High Court, seeking to quash the FIR registered against him at the Attapur Police Station.
In his quash petition, Udaya Krishna Reddy argued that the allegations against him are false and were made with malicious intent. He stated that he has complete faith in the judicial process and requested the court to set aside the FIR. The Telangana High Court is likely to hear the petition on Wednesday.
The case stems from a complaint filed by a trainee woman IPS officer from Karnataka at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad.
She alleged that Udaya Krishna Reddy subjected her to sexual harassment during their training.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Udaya Krishna Reddy allegedly attempted suicide by consuming a toilet cleaning liquid at a relative’s house in Motinagar.
Family members immediately shifted him to a private hospital in SR Nagar, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
The investigation into the sexual harassment case is continuing. The outcome of the High Court proceedings is expected to have a significant bearing on the future course of the case. (Maxim News)
