Hyderabad, July 28 (Maxim News): Police have taken trainee IPS officer Uday Krishna Reddy into custody in connection with a harassment case registered following a complaint by a fellow trainee IPS officer.
He was detained on the outskirts of Hyderabad and shifted to the Attapur Police Station for further investigation.
The case was registered by Attapur police on July 18 after a woman trainee IPS officer accused Uday Krishna Reddy of sexual harassment during their training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA).
The complainant also alleged that he shared her private videos with her husband, causing her mental harassment and distress.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case under multiple sections of the law and launched an investigation.
Police Trace Accused After Search Operation
During the investigation, police attempted to serve notices at the two addresses provided by the accused. However, he was not found at either location, and his mobile phone remained switched off.
Following his disappearance, the Rajendranagar Police constituted four special teams to trace him. After a search operation, officers located and took him into custody on Tuesday.
Rajendranagar Deputy Commissioner of Police Srinivas said the investigation is being conducted in a fair and transparent manner. Police are expected to question the accused as part of the ongoing probe before initiating further legal procedures.
The case has drawn significant attention as it involves allegations of harassment within the National Police Academy and a serving trainee IPS officer. (Maxim News)
