TRS Leaders Heap Praises On Dy Speaker “Pajjanna”

Hyderabad, Feb.25 (Maxim News): The TRS leaders today heaped praises on the newly elected deputy speaker T. Padma Rao Goud in the State Assembly on Monday.

Participating in a motion to congratulate the newly elected Deputy Speaker in the House, TRS working president KT Rama Rao said his association with Padma Rao was ten year old and had seen the perseverance and efficiency of the Deputy Speaker during his association. He hoped that Padma Rao would excel in his new role and achieve total success in his new role. He also hoped that he would bring name for the chair of Deputy Speaker with his leadership skills.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said although he and Padma Rao represented different political parties in the past, they never criticized each other as they belong to the Secunderabad constituency. He also pointed out that both of them contested from Sanathnagar and Secunderabad Assembly constituencies with an understanding to win from their respective seats in the 2014 Assembly elections and their strategy worked out and both of them won from the two seats.

He said while he was defeated by Padma Rao in the 2004 Assembly elections from Secunderabad Assembly seat, he defeated Padma Rao in the 2008 by-elections held that year. Yadav said both of them created a niche for themselves as they came from backward class communities. He also said he was impressed with Padma Rao for his low profile maintenance.

Addressing the House, former minister T Harish Rao recalled his 20-year long association with Padma Rao. He said all the leaders in the party fondly address the Deputy Speaker as Pajjanna. The very mention of his nickname by Harish brought cheers on the face of the newly elected Deputy Speaker in the House. He said that it was during the term of Padma Rao as Excise Minister, the State got rid of deadly Gudumba menace. He said international sports stars like Sania Mirza, Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu won awards for the country during the term of Padma Rao as Sports Minister. He hoped that Padma Rao would succeed in his new role and bring good name for his position. (Maxim News)
