TSRTC Plans To Purchase 1050 New Buses In Phase Manner: Sajjanar

Hyderabad, Dec 29 (Maxim News): Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has taken steps to provide better services to passengers. As part of it, a decision has been taken to purchase new 1050 diesel buses with the estimated cost of Rs. 400 crore.

It was explained that the Corporation wants to buy 400 Express, 512 Palle Velugu, 92 Lahori sleeper-cum-seater and 56 AC Rajdhani buses. In addition to these, arrangements are being made to make available 540 electric buses in Hyderabad city and 500 in other parts of Telangana. Sajjanar revealed that a plan has been made to make it available to passengers by March 2024 in phases.  As part of the free bus travel facility for women, new buses will be used as the traffic increases.

60 new buses with state-of-art features will be put into use from Saturday. Among them are 30 Express, 30 Rajdhani AC, 20 Lahori Sleeper-cum-Seater (Non AC) buses. These new buses will be launched at Ambedkar statue on NTR marg, Hyderabad at 10 am on Saturday.

Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar will be the chief guest and flag off the new buses, said Sajjanar.  (Maxim News)
