TUWJF Annual Award Ceremony ‘A Grand Success’

The Telangana Urdu Working Journalists’ Federation (TUWJF) has organised its annual award function on Saturday, 10th May, 2025, at Suravaram Pratap Reddy Auditorium, Basheerbagh Press Club, Fateh Maidan, Hyderabad.

The TUWJF, established in 2016, instituted three awards named after eminent Urdu journalists Faiz Mohd Azghar, Habeeb Ali Al Jeelani, and Tabassum Faridi. The award comprises Rs. 10,000 cash and a citation.

Speaking on this occasion, Asaduddin Owaisi suggested that both the National parties, BJP and Congress, and all other parties set aside their differences and come on one platform unitedly to stand in support of our Armymen who are giving a befitting reply to Pakistan at this crucial stage and protecting us. He said Muslims in India are ready to fight for the country. He said that they will do anything to save our country. He advised Pakistan to stop promoting terrorism, as it is not good for any country.  

Mohd Ali Shabbir, Advisor to the Govt. of Telangana, K. Sreenivas Reddy, Chairman, Telangana State Media Academy, and other dignitaries. Telangana State Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) President K. Virahath Ali, and Minorities Commission former Chairman Mohd Qamaruddin. TUWJF President M.A. Majid, General Secretary Syed Ghouse Mohiuddin, Treasurer M.A. Mohsin and Convenor Khaleel Farhaad and others were present.

Since its formation, the Federation has worked for the welfare and professional advancement of Urdu journalists. Its activities include conducting training camps, seminars, and refresher courses, providing financial assistance to sick Urdu journalists, and making representations to the government on Urdu journalists’ accreditation cards and other issues.

The Awards Presented Were:

Faiz Mohammed Azghar Award (2023) to Iftequar Ali Wajid, Senior Report (Etemaad), Tabassum Faridi Award (2023) to Waheed Gulshan, Senior Journalist (Warangal), Habeeb Ali Al Jeelani Award (2023) to Mohd. Asad (Karimnagar).

Faiz Mohammed Azghar Award (2024) to Yaser Ullah Shakeel (4tv), Tabassum Faridi Award (2024) to Shahid Ahmed Tawakkal (Adilabad), Habeeb Ali Al Jeelani Award (2024) to Nayeem Wajahad (Siasat), newly introduced M.A. Raheem Photographer Press Award (2024) to Mohd. Aleemuddin (Style), and TUWJF NRI Award (2024) to K.N. Wasif.

Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Sr. Journalist Late Habeeb Ali Al Jeelani, INN Bureau Chief and TUWJF Vice President, the award was received by his wife. The cash award of Rs. 50,000 was given by INN Chairman Sameer Waliullah.
