Two Arrested For Stealing Liquor Bottles

Hyderabad: Two persons who stole liquor bottles from a bar and restaurant at Afzalgunj in April were caught by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (Central) on Tuesday. The police seized Rs. 10,000 and two mobile phones from them.

Acting on a tip off, the team caught K Athish alias Laddu (23), a fruit vendor from Puranapul and Madugula Kanishk alias Kanishk (21), a petty trader from Shahinyathgunj. Two more suspects in the case are absconding.

Laddu planned to steal the liquor bottles from the bar and restaurant to sell it in the market during the lockdown. He roped in Kanishk, Shakti Mayur and Kala Vikas and the four of them went to Ravindra Bar and Restaurant located near the Central Bus Station in Afzalgunj. “Laddu and Kanishk went inside the bar while the other two stood outside to keep a watch.

They stole 15 full bottles of Royal Stag and five bottles of Blender’s Pride from the place. The gang sold 16 bottles and consumed the remaining liquor,” said Mohd Abdul Javeed, Inspector Task Force (Central).

Laddu and Kanishk were handed over to Afzalgunj police for further investigation. Efforts are on to nab the absconding suspects, the Inspector said.
