Urdu University Celebrates Republic Day

Hyderabad, Jan 26 (Maxim News): Maulana Azad National Urdu University celebrated the 70th Republic Day on Saturday with pomp and gaiety. Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice-Chancellor unfurled the national tricolour in front of the Administrative Building.

Later while addressing a jam packed auditorium at Directorate of Distance Education he paid rich tributes to Dr. Bhimroa Ambedkar and his team for drafting an ideal constitution for India. Fundamental Rights are part of our constitution right from the beginning whereas the fundamental duties were added almost after 30 years of independence in 1976, he said. Respect for women, humanity, development of Scientific temperament and attitude are hallmarks of these duties, he added. Without effective implementation of the Constitution we cannot reap its fruits. Addressing the students, he said that institutions are meant to prepare future citizens. They have not just come for the sake of obtaining degrees but all-round development of personality should be the ultimate goal. He extended greetings for the Republic Day.

He also commended the department of education for achieving huge success in CTET exam. Success ratio of the students from the department is manifold of National ratio.

After flag hoisting ceremony, cultural programmes of students were organized by Centre for Urdu Culture Studies at DDE auditorium.
Mahim Quamar, Gazal Perween, B. Naushaba Khatoon, Tafheem Begum, G. Vishnu Priya, Syed Abu Ghufran, Md. Jawed Iqbal, Ajeet Sahgal, Md. Hazique, Areeb Akhtar, presented patriotic songs Saare Jahan se Achcha Hindustan hamara; Vijayi Vishwa Tiranga, Sarfaroshi ki Tamanna, Urooje Kamyabi per Kabhi and Naujawano ab Hamein Bedar in chorus to mark the occasion.

The cultural programme was put together by Mr. Anis Azami, Chief Consultant and Dr. Firoz Alam, Assistant Professor, Cultural Centre. Dr. Muzaffar Hussain Khan, Assistant Professor, Education, Dr Karan Singh Utwal, Assistant Professor, Hindi assisted the students.
