Uttam appeals for Congress victory to bring real change to Telangana

Hyderabad, November 28: Nalgonda MP and Huzurnagar candidate Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has made a passionate appeal to the voters of Telangana to give the Congress party a chance to bring about the much-needed change in the state.

Addressing a series of meetings on the last day of the election campaign on Tuesday, Uttam Kumar Reddy lamented that the people of Telangana have not experienced the true benefits of a separate state due to the abysmal failures of the BRS government. He reminded the people that it was Congress leader Sonia Gandhi who granted statehood to Telangana with the hope that it would transform the lives of ordinary people, particularly the youth, students, and other marginalized sections. However, he expressed deep disappointment that the BRS government has failed to realize the primary objectives of Telangana – water, resources, and jobs.

Uttam Kumar Reddy highlighted the alarming situation of unemployment in Telangana, stating that there are over 40 lakh jobless youth in the state, including nearly 25 lakh who have registered with the Telangana Public Service Commission. He pointed out that lakhs of youth have crossed the age limit while waiting for the recruitment process to be completed. He also criticized the TSPSC for its repeated paper leaks and the BRS government’s inaction in filling vacant posts in government departments. He emphasized that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has never prioritized initiatives that could create new employment opportunities, resulting in Telangana becoming one of the states with the highest unemployment rates.

The Congress leader also addressed the neglected state of education under the BRS regime. He pointed out that the promise of free education from KG to PG has remained unfulfilled, with students being deprived of fee reimbursement, scholarships, and adequate staffing and funding for state universities. Similarly, public healthcare has been severely neglected, with major government hospitals across Telangana lacking proper facilities.

Uttam Kumar Reddy asserted that the last decade under the BRS government has been a period of shattered dreams, broken promises, and betrayal. He contrasted this with the Congress party’s commitment to addressing the needs of all sections of society.

He said that the Congress party has announced six guarantees, which include: Financial assistance of Rs. 2,500 for all women; Free bus travel for women; Cooking gas at Rs. 500; Financial aid of Rs. 15,000 per acre annually to farmers and tenant farmers; Free electricity up to 200 units for households and Land and Rs. 5 lakh for construction of a house for homeless families.

Uttam Kumar Reddy pledged that these six guarantees would be implemented within six months of the Congress party coming to power. He emphasized the party’s strong track record of keeping its promises, citing the successful implementation of the five guarantees given in the Karnataka elections. He expressed confidence that the people of Telangana would recognize the Congress party’s genuine commitment to their well-being and ensure a landslide victory for the party on more than 80 seats. He expressed particular confidence in the Congress party’s victory in both Huzurnagar and Kodad seats with a huge majority. (Maxim News)
