Hyderabad, April 19: The Uttarakhand Madrasa Board abolition has been announced by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He said the State Madrasa Board will be scrapped from July 1, 2026.
Addressing the issue, Dhami stated that the Uttarakhand Madrasa Board abolition aims to introduce a uniform curriculum. He said all such institutions will follow standardized education norms going forward.
The Chief Minister also said the government does not want these institutions to promote divisive thinking. Instead, he stressed that they should function as centres of learning and knowledge.

Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand Madrasa Board abolition follows action against illegal institutions. Dhami said authorities have acted against more than 250 unauthorised madrasas in the state.
He added that these institutions were allegedly misleading children. Therefore, the government initiated stricter monitoring and enforcement measures.
The decision marks a significant policy shift in the state’s education framework. Officials said further steps will ensure implementation of uniform standards across institutions.
