Vijayawada, Feb. 21: Former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu recently expressed concern over the impact of Artificial Intelligence on human relationships. He said he fears that AI may weaken personal bonds.
Therefore, he called for careful use of technology. He made these remarks at the golden jubilee celebrations of the Alumni Association at P B Siddhartha College of Arts and Science in Vijayawada.
Speaking at the event, Venkaiah Naidu said the very mention of AI creates anxiety in the current climate.
However, he clarified that he does not oppose Artificial Intelligence. He said AI should not promote hatred or division. Instead, he urged developers and policymakers to regulate AI responsibly. He also stressed that value based Artificial Intelligence must guide society.
Moreover, he warned that many white collar jobs may face risk in the future. Therefore, he said there is a need to discuss job security in the age of Artificial Intelligence.
He added that several sectors may witness job losses. As a result, society must prepare for these changes. At the same time, he said technology should support human growth, not replace it.
On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, Venkaiah Naidu also spoke about language and culture.
He urged students to preserve traditions passed down by ancestors. He said people must showcase the greatness of the Telugu language to the world. In addition, he advised youth to value traditional attire and cultural identity.
Meanwhile, he said character matters more than caste. He stated that knowledge is more important than degrees.
Furthermore, he cautioned against encouraging abusive language in politics. He urged society to reject leaders who use offensive speech.
He also advised parents to spend more time with their children. Instead of giving priority to Google and reels, families should focus on building a better society.
Venkaiah Naidu concluded by stressing that while Artificial Intelligence offers opportunities, society must guide it with ethics and responsibility. (Maxim News)
