Vice President election to be held on August 6; schedule released

The schedule for the Vice President election was decided during a meeting with Election Commissioner Anup Chandra Pandey and Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar. The Election Commission of India (ECI) took the steps to select M. Venkaiah Naidu’s successor as his term as vice president expires on August 10.

According to the ECI schedule, the vice president election will take place on August 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The votes will be counted after 5 p.m. on election day.

The notification will be issued on July 5th, and nomination papers must be submitted by July 19th to be reviewed on July 20th. The deadline for withholding your name from consideration is July 22.
